After plenty of research and questions to sellers, I believe I obtained a great find of a vintage double breasted trench by Burberry brand. Since this is an item from older release, it is labeled under Burberrys of London, with silver printing over blue canvas.
- Burberry has been using name Burberrys (of London) for decades, since a big number of consumers throughout the world were referring to the brand of Burberrys of London. The company eliminate Burberrys logo and switched back to Burberry in late 90s, early years of 2000.
Here are a few thoughts of I feel about my particular garment:
After receiving the packaged, I was amazed how heavy the jacket felt. Since it is made of a durable but heavy gabardine material, it has substantial weight. Not to exaggerate, but my vintage Burberrys trench weights at least 5lbs if not more.
Modern Burberry trench coats tend to be on a shorter end, and rarely run lower than your knees, but with the vintage Burberrys jackets, it is more frequent to stumble upon extra long one. Personally I was very happy to find mine in extra long lenght to go far beyond my knees. Extra long length combined with a removable wool lining, would make sure the Burberry trench can serve me well during the freezing local winters.
Since this is the older item, the fit of the trench coat has some vintage feel to it, which I personally find amazing (not everyone will agree with me though). I have played around with my Burberrys tranch to find best way for myself in styling it. Personally I love having the sleeves pushed up, the belt tied, but the jacket kept unzipped since the coat is a little too big for me.
If you are considering buying a vintage Burberry (Burberrys) trench coat, make sure to do a good research for yourself. Talk to a seller and ask about garment’s authenticity. Keep your eyes open for size details-usually vintage Burberrys jackets do not have size posted, and you have to rely of measurements, so know your well. Here is a valuable resource of information to fit and authenticity of Burberrys trenches.
